About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sociology & Criminology Teacher to join a fantastic secondary school in the L17 area starting in September 2025. As one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK, we are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic educator. A successful applicant will have a teaching qualification with QTS.

Teacher of Sociology & Criminology

Location: L17

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term

Working Hours: Full time, 8:00am –

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and take responsibility for the progress of students. You may also be asked to teach Psychology and/or another subject at KS3 such as History or
  • Establish a safe and interactive environment for pupils.
  • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge of the subject, and plan teaching around this.
  • Differentiate teaching methods for students individual needs.
  • Have effective behaviour management

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with related degree
  • Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
  • Ability to provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years.
