Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Social Science (Psychology and Sociology) to cover a maternity leave. Join our passionate team to inspire and develop our vibrant students. Main Areas of Responsibility

The role involves:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Operational and strategic planning (lesson planning, resources, syllabuses).
  • Staff development and professional growth.

  • Managing student records and progress tracking.
  • Communicating with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Being a form tutor for a group of students.
  • Ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Have secondary teaching experience, preferably in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 settings.
  • Understand effective teaching and learning principles.
  • Value high expectations and equality.
  • Know the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4, including lesson planning, resources, and assessment.
  • Work well in a team and build positive relationships.
  • Possess good ICT skills, including innovative use of whiteboards.
  • Create a motivating and safe learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.
  • Have strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Manage workload effectively.
  • Motivate students and raise aspirations.
