Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher

Social sciences

We require a dynamic and collaborative teacher who is strong in relational practice and knowledgeable about NCEA, to teach a range of subjects across the social science/humanities/commerce learning areas. This could include any combination of: history, art history, philosophy, classics, social studies and business studies.

We are looking for a full-time, permanent teacher to join our kura at the beginning of term 1, 2026. This great opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, well-resourced kura with aspirational learners. An interest in Scholarship is desirable.

You will be:

  • Committed to honouring Te Tiriti and embedding Mātauranga Māori into your learning environments
  • A teacher who has high expectations of teaching and learning
  • Experienced in the delivery of social science/humanities/business studies learning
  • Practiced at establishing and maintaining professional relationships that focus on learning and the wellbeing of ākonga
  • Committed to embedding literacy practices into learning opportunities to aid learning in your subjects
  • Adept at designing and executing differentiated learning in your subject areas
  • Confident using technologies and AI to enhance learning experiences
  • A teacher with strong organisational skills
