Job summary

A leading secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher for a maternity cover from September 2025 to July 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching all three sciences to KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring high engagement and motivation while fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

Job description

Your new school
We have an exciting opportunity for a Secondary Science Teacher at a successful and oversubscribed secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent from September 2025 for the full academic year (through to July 2026). This school is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and nurturing secondary science teacher to join their team to cover a period of maternity leave.


Your new role
As a qualified teacher of science, you will have full responsibility for teaching all three sciences to both KS3 and KS4 pupils. You will be working on a full-time basis to ensure pupils remain engaged and motivated throughout their learning journeys and will ensure to provide a stimulating environment for pupils to learn and grow. You will have a thorough understanding of the secondary science curriculum and assessment criteria, and will have the natural ability to create positive relationships and promote student engagement whilst fostering a supportive and inclusive community.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need to hold QTS in the UK with a specialism in science. ECTs are also welcome to apply for this role.
