Job Title: Science Teacher for SEMH PRU (SEMH Provision Unit)

Location: Preston

Job Type: Long-term, potential for permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our SEMH PRU in Preston. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science to small groups of students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). This role offers a long-term placement with the potential for a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons to small groups of students in KS3 and KS4.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and mental health needs of the students.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the teaching and support staff to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as required.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the Science curriculum within the SEMH PRU.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 level.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to making a positive impact on the educational journey of SEMH students.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous experience working in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive daily rates ranging from £150 to £240.
  • Long-term role with potential for a permanent position.
  • Willing to consider candidates with ECTS.
