Main Scale M1 to Upper Pay Scale UPS3 (£31,650 to £49,084)

Are you, or do you have the potential to be, an exceptional Teacher of Science, looking to play a key role in one of the strongest performing schools in the Rochdale Borough?

Due to increasing student numbers, Holy Family RC & CE College is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Science who is passionate about education and who has a flair for working with young people. The successful candidate will drive the Science department to its next stage of development as a high performing faculty. This position is ideally suited to an ECT seeking a nurturing and ambitious school community. It is a full-time role, but the appointed candidate may also be required to provide teaching cover across other subject areas, as directed by the school's timetable.

Holy Family RC and CE College is a Dual Faith Christian 11-16 school located in Heywood, Rochdale. The College was judged as “Good” by OFSTED in January 2022 and “Outstanding” by both Salford and Manchester Diocese in June 2023.

The College is committed to becoming Outstanding in all areas and is actively working towards this goal. This post offers an opportunity for teachers who want to be part of our exciting journey.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Keen, committed students in a College with a strong Christian Ethos.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities. We welcome applications from ECTs and experienced teachers who believe they have the skills to excel.
  • A successful, growing, and over-subscribed school.
  • Excellent facilities in new and refurbished buildings, supported by the latest resources.
  • Supportive and focused Senior Leaders committed to developing talented staff into future Middle and Senior Leaders.
  • The chance to be part of a school with a “can and will do” attitude and an exceptional department.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:

  • Strong subject knowledge and experience of raising achievement across diverse abilities.
  • Highly motivated with a belief in improving young people's life chances.
  • A well-qualified, industrious team player committed to lifelong learning and student development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills to contribute to the success of the staff and team, with a positive attitude.
  • A “can do” attitude and a commitment to excellence.
  • Support for the Christian ethos of our school.

Holy Family College is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment.

The school operates a Safer Recruitment policy. The successful applicant will undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Proficiency in spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff are essential for this role.

Applicants must confirm they are not subject to immigration restrictions that prevent them from working in the UK and can provide proof of Right to Work if invited for an interview.

The school will conduct an online search as part of due diligence for all shortlisted candidates, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.

Applicants should note that employment will be with the school governing board, not Rochdale Council.

To apply, download the application form and supporting documents and send the completed application to recruitment@hfch.co.uk
