About this Role

At Redden Court School, we prioritize the development of outstanding teaching and learning alongside wellbeing. All members of the school community are cared for, valued, and listened to. We have the highest expectations of our students and staff. Our Science Faculty has a wealth of experience across all three Science disciplines, supported by a strong team of 10 staff and four experienced technicians.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  1. Strive for excellence in teaching and learning in the classroom.
  2. Ensure adherence to school and faculty policies in all teaching and administrative activities.
  3. Liaise with parents/carers regarding student progress and attend consultation evenings and progress review days as scheduled.
  4. Assess and report on students at all levels, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  5. Share information about individual students' progress with relevant Tutors, Pastoral Heads, and the SENCo.
  6. Lead the development of the subject through regular faculty meetings.
  7. Lead enrichment activities for students as directed by the Head of Faculty.
  8. Manage Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 groups, ensuring progress against school targets.
  9. Participate in staff development programmes within the school.
  10. Contribute to the pastoral care structure as a Form Tutor or support team member.
  11. Undertake any reasonable duties assigned by the Head Teacher to meet the needs of the school.
