We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic RE Teacher to join our successful department in a high-achieving academy in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025, and we welcome applications from experienced RE Teachers as well as ECTs.

About the School:

Our academy is a vibrant and diverse learning community where students are encouraged to develop their intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares our students for success in a multicultural and interconnected world. We have a strong focus on personal development and encourage students to explore their own beliefs and values in a respectful and open-minded environment.

About the RE Department:

The Religious Education department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared commitment to fostering students' understanding of different religions and worldviews. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious and philosophical traditions, promoting dialogue and critical thinking. We encourage students to develop their own perspectives on faith and belief and to contribute to respectful discussions on ethical issues.

About the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, guest speakers, and visits to places of worship, to bring RE to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students, encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and access to employee assistance programs.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities, including a dedicated induction program for ECTs and opportunities for subject-specific training in RE.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions are valued.
  • Opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and faith-based initiatives.
