Hours: 35 per week
Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school serving west-central Edinburgh for over 100 years. The school moved to a new site in January 2010 and boasts excellent educational facilities. It is deeply connected to its local communities, drawing students from Balgreen, Craiglockhart, Dalry, and Stenhouse Primary Schools. The current school roll is around 805 students.
The school offers a wide range of subjects and prepares students for SQA exams at all levels. There is a strong sense of pride among students, staff, and parents. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
