Downside School has a vacancy for a full-time Teacher of Physics to join the Science faculty from September 2025. Are you passionate about helping pupils develop as learners in a highly supportive and academically ambitious school environment? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Ideally, you will be an experienced Teacher of Physics capable of teaching Years 7 to 13, up to Oxbridge entrance level, though applications from ECTs are also welcome.
It is essential that our Teacher of Physics is an effective team member, promoting Physics through academic enrichment and seeking opportunities to develop teaching and learning within the subject.
Downside is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and one of England's oldest and most distinguished Catholic schools.
Our latest ISI inspection report states that the quality of pupils' achievement and learning is excellent, as is the overall quality of teaching. The successful candidate should possess the drive and determination to enthuse pupils to reach high standards. As a boarding school, all teachers participate fully in co-curricular activities and boarding life.
