Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week

Portobello High School is a six-year comprehensive school located in the East of Edinburgh, with over 1500 students mainly from five associate primary schools: Brunstane, Duddingston, Parsons Green, Royal High, and Towerbank.

The school features high-quality facilities used extensively by the community. It offers a rich extracurricular programme, especially in arts and sports, and maintains positive links with parents, local businesses, and the community.

This post offers a great opportunity to join a large, enthusiastic team in a comprehensive setting. The department is well-resourced, providing National 4 to Advanced Higher courses, along with other PE courses and a broad extracurricular programme.

This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.

Salaries follow the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
