Job Title: Teacher of Performing Arts (Maternity Leave Cover)

Location: Sharples School, Bolton

About the School

Sharples School is an over-subscribed mixed comprehensive with over 1,200 pupils, situated in the North of Bolton. The school has received various accolades, including being a Gold Winner of the Pearson Teaching Awards 'Secondary School of the Year 2023-24' and achieving a 2024 Progress 8 score of +0.86. The school was rated 'Good' in 2019 and 'significantly improved' in its January 2025 inspection.

Position Details
  • Type: Fixed-term contract for 1 year, starting September 2025
  • Salary: T1 T9 (£31,650 to £49,084)
  • Additional TLR available for leading KS4 courses for the right candidate
Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Drama specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will:

  • Lead on strategies to ensure high-quality teaching in Drama and Music
  • Develop student outcomes that meet or exceed expectations
  • Engage in leadership development and prepare for senior leadership roles
