An established educational institution is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Physical Education & Science to inspire students and foster a love for learning. This rewarding role involves leading PE and Science classes, engaging students with complex needs, and providing vital support for their wellbeing. The successful candidate will benefit from a supportive team and opportunities for professional growth, including assistance in obtaining Qualified Teacher Status. If you are passionate about education and eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners, this position is perfect for you.
At Future Schools Trust, we are looking for a Teacher of Physical Education & Science to join our expanding team at The Gateway from September 2025. We are offering a £3,000 Golden Hello for this role, which will be paid as a one-off lump sum to the successful candidate upon employment commencing with Future Schools Trust.
The Gateway offers a specialised inclusion provision for the students within the Trust. The successful candidate will lead and support the learning of our students in Physical Education and Science. The role will be to drive forward PE and Sport at Gateway, motivating and encouraging our students to take part in sport, alongside planning and organising regular active trips and activities offsite.
The successful candidate will also deliver GCSE Combined Science to our Year 10 and 11 students, with support from subject specialists across the Trust.
Applications are invited from driven candidates who are able to show a real passion for PE and Science and a want to instil this in their learners. You will either be an experienced, skilled and motivated teacher able to support an already successful team or be at the beginning of your career looking for a supportive and dedicated team to work with.
If you are looking to get into teaching and have the ambition to gain your QTS in the future this is something that can be supported and funded towards by the Trust.
This rewarding role will suit someone with significant experience of working with young people who present challenging behaviours and a flexible, creative approach to teaching. You’ll need to be confident using a range of strategies to engage students with complex needs, including those with SEND. Beyond classroom teaching, you will play a key role in the wider care of our pupils — The Gateway is a safe space and sanctuary for the children who attend, and you’ll be part of the team that supports their wellbeing as much as their learning. From sharing a hot meal to helping them manage their emotions, you’ll provide the consistency and care that our young people rely on each day.
