Are you looking for your next career move?

Teaching PE and Maths at Brislington is a joy and a privilege. Our strategically engineered curriculum is academically rigorous, diverse and promotes curiosity and independence. The quality of our curriculum has led to steadily improving outcomes over time, including achieving positive scores.

We understand that high quality teaching is the most important factor in supporting student progress and, to that end, we place teacher development at the heart of what we do. We offer weekly teaching and learning development and operate a supportive and celebratory open-door policy to ensure that great practice is cultivated.

As a team, we take pride in what we do and, because our curriculum is fully resourced, we can spend time developing our knowledge and expertise to ensure that we are constantly moving forward both as individuals and as a team. We are looking for passionate, committed new colleagues to join us on our journey to further success.

About our school

This is an exciting time to join us at Oasis Brislington, under the leadership of newly appointed Principal. We are a large and oversubscribed secondary academy with 1,400 students on roll. Oasis Academy Brislington is proud to provide exceptional education, at the heart of the community and are delighted to have been recognised as a ‘Good’ Academy, externally. (Ofsted, November 2021).

We are an inclusive 11-16 community whose aim is to ensure 'Excellence as Standard' in everything we do. We want our students to become the very best version of themselves; our vision is to equip them with the confidence, knowledge and skills to stand as "first among equals". We are incredibly proud of our students and the wonderful people we see them blossom into throughout their time with us.

Joining our team of passionate, dedicated staff will provide you with a multitude of opportunities both personally, and professionally which will allow you to progress your career whilst making a genuine difference to the lives of children and their families, in Bristol.

What we can offer you:

• An exceptional CPD offer including fortnightly personalised Incremental Coaching, weekly Academy-wide and department-based CPD and termly Trust-based CPD.

• A pre-planned, fully resourced, Trust-wide curriculum with the autonomy to adapt for your students - no planning lessons from scratch!

• A centralised Culture for Learning Policy which allows the teacher to teach and students to learn. You will be fully supported too by a superb Pastoral and SEND team.

• A streamlined, personalised feedback & assessment policy, created to minimise staff workload and maximise student progression.

• The opportunity to access to Apprenticeship Levy for further professional and academic qualifications.

• The opportunity to run a weekly extra-curricular club of your choosing, and to share your hidden talents with students!

• Access to a laptop for all staff / students enabling the use of Formative and other online self-marking assessment resources.

• The opportunity to further your career within the Trust and region.

• Access to Eye Care vouchers and a national Cycle to Work scheme.

• Access to Health Shield Cash Plan which can include 24/7 access to a GP, assistance with the cost and access to dental treatment, eye-care, physiotherapy, and chiropody.

• Support to balance your work/life/caring responsibilities via our Time Off Work Policy, Menopause Policy, and Flexible Working.

• Trust wide recognition of the challenges to mental health, facing both staff and students, and the support of our National Mental Health Team which is staffed by professionally qualified Mental Health Nurses.

• Confidential Counselling services for you and those that live with you, should times get tough.

• If you are an Early Career Teacher, you will be supported by your individual subject Mentor and the wider ECT team both within the Academy, and nationally.

• The opportunity to join a successful department, with a proven track record and a wealth of expertise in their subject and pedagogy.

If you would like to get a feel for our Academy before you apply, we would be happy to host you for a visit and to show you why we think Oasis Academy Brislington is such a great place to look.
