Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking enthusiastic teachers to deliver quality education to assigned pupils in a dynamic part of Scotland. You will contribute to the professional life of the school within the collegial ethos, working with pupils, staff and external bodies under local and Scottish teaching agreements.

The post is regulated work with PVG scheme checks and pre-employment safeguarding checks; successful applicants must be registered with GTC Scotland or eligible for registration.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• PVG Scheme or PVG Scheme update check is required for the preferred candidate.
• Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required if spent 3+ months outside the UK in the last 5 years.
• Pre-employment checks must be satisfactory before confirmed offer and commencement.
• Salary will be in accordance with SNCT agreements; applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered.
• If qualified as a Teacher outside Scotland, information on registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland is available.
• This post has a minimum requirement of one reference, from current or most recent employer.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
