The Role: Teacher of MFL (German Specialist)

This is a full-time, immediate-start opportunity for an exceptional Teacher of MFL, with a strong specialism in German, to join a successful secondary school in Leeds. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and skilled practitioner who can teach German across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. This crucial position involves planning and delivering a challenging, engaging, and culturally rich curriculum, fostering linguistic confidence and preparing students for future success in a global society. The role requires a commitment to continuous professional development and contributing positively to the broader life of the department and the academy.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging German lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Set and mark student work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the MFL German curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Monitor student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour in line with school policy.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and whole-school professional development.
  • Liaise with parents/carers about student progress and welfare.
  • Act as a Tutor, delivering pastoral support and guidance to a dedicated group of students.
  • Organise and lead extracurricular language or cultural activities (e.g., German club).
  • Maintain an orderly, purposeful, and stimulating classroom learning environment.
