Wye School is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.
Wye School is a co-educational, non-selective secondary school, opening in 2013 and now fully established with a 6th form. We are a relatively small school, with 600 students, and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The school has built on United Learning’s successful track record nationally of providing an excellent secondary education for local children and is oversubscribed with excellent exam outcomes.
The successful candidate will join the school in September 2024 and will be part of a small Modern Foreign Languages department of two staff that deliver Spanish and French at KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to be the Spanish specialist and, for the right candidate, to be the Head of Languages. As a small school, we work as part of a small, close-knit team, but being part of United Learning offers excellent professional development and future career prospects. We work alongside Chilmington Green School, the other local United Learning secondary school.
We welcome applications from both ECTs (not suitable for the Head of MFL role but will be considered for Spanish Teacher role) and experienced practitioners. We will consider part-time requests.
We actively welcome visits and would be delighted to show you the school. For a confidential discussion about this role, please contact:
