What You ll Be Doing:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
Educate students in various mathematical disciplines, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics
Provide tutoring and mentoring to students who require additional support in understanding mathematical concepts
Assess student progress through regular testing and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience
Maintain an organised classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring all materials are readily available for students
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the improvement of the Maths department
Facilitate scientific or interdisciplinary projects where mathematical applications intersect with fields like biochemistry or computing
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with teaching methodologies and curriculum advancements
Participate in pastoral and academic intervention activities, including one-to-one and small group support
What We re Looking For:
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject is essential
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, SCITT, or equivalent) and QTS (or expected by September 2025)
A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to support student progress and success
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
Experience in tutoring, mentoring or classroom teaching especially within a secondary setting is preferred
Familiarity with strategies to support students with SEN, including ASD and ADHD, is highly desirable
Proficiency in assessing and proofreading educational content for clarity and accuracy
Experience working in laboratory or applied science environments is a bonus, particularly for integrating real-world maths applications
