Linlithgow Academy is a six-year comprehensive school offering students in the Linlithgow area a progressive, relevant, challenging, and enjoyable curriculum with opportunities for personalisation and choice. We strive to ensure that students have the highest quality learning experiences.

We offer the full range of National Qualifications found in a modern Scottish secondary school. We aim to provide experiences that foster a creative and enterprising attitude in our students, developing young people with pride and ambition to contribute positively to the local, national, and international community.

Linlithgow Academy provides all students with the opportunity to succeed. Our excellent facilities and dedicated staff enable us to offer the highest possible standard of education in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment—an environment where all members of the school community are valued and their achievements recognised.

We recognize that the curriculum encompasses not only what students learn but also how they learn. We emphasize the student experience and seek flexibility to ensure success in examinations and through personal achievement pathways.

The school has 100 teaching staff, with departments organized under the guidance of a Principal Teacher Curriculum responsible for each curricular area.

You will work collaboratively with all stakeholders within Linlithgow Academy to ensure a high-quality student experience that reflects curricular design principles and student entitlements, with the ultimate goal of maximising achievement and attainment for all. Our mission statement, "Together we Thrive", underpins our collaborative approach to improvement, where every voice is important and valued. The school values—kindness, curiosity, perseverance, and fairness—guide all decision-making in daily school life.

We are committed to employing a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, especially from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, individuals from minority ethnic communities, or those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

West Lothian Council is dedicated to significant improvements in delivering Education Services. This includes providing the support and environment needed for staff to develop their abilities. Our commitment is demonstrated by achieving the Investors in People Standard, and we continually aim to improve our service delivery.
