Job description

St Edward's Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic and accomplished Teacher of Mathematics to join a thriving and ambitious department from January 2027.

You will teach Mathematics across a range of ages and abilities, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop pupils' confidence, technical fluency, problem-solving skills and independence.

You will join a collaborative department of fourteen teachers where innovation and experimentation are encouraged, and staff are supported to explore new approaches to teaching and learning. The department makes extensive use of technology and resources including OneNote, GeoGebra, Desmos, Dr Frost and graphical calculators.

Alongside classroom teaching, you will contribute to the wider academic and co-curricular life of the School and act as an academic tutor to a small group of pupils.

About you

We are looking for a well-qualified mathematician with a good honours degree and a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people achieve their potential. You will be an engaging and effective classroom practitioner with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.

A teaching qualification is desirable rather than essential, while previous experience of teaching IB, Further Mathematics, working within a coeducational school or working in a boarding environment would be advantageous.
