Job summary

Sefton, a school within Southport Learning Trust, is seeking a well-qualified Language Teacher to join our Languages department, which teaches Spanish, French and Latin and contributes to EBacc outcomes. The post is 13 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2027.

Closing date is 5 October 2026, with interviews on 8 October 2026. DBS checks and a medical questionnaire may be required as part of our safeguarding procedures. CVs will not be considered.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Language Teacher. The Languages department is highly successful, with over 80% of students entered for the EBacc suite of qualifications. The faculty is well-resourced and strives to make the subject interesting and relevant for all our students who study many different languages, primarily Spanish French and Latin. The faculty currently consists of both full and part-time experienced specialist teaching staff.

The Trust is required under law and guidance to check the criminal background of all employees. Decisions to appoint will be subject to consideration of an Enhanced Disclosure, including a Barred List check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Because of the nature of the work for which you are applying this post is except from the rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).

Successful applicants will be required to complete a confidential medical questionnaire and may be required to undergo a medical examination.
