Salary (Actual): £37,913 - £55,494 per year
Grade: MPS/UPS (Depending on experience)
Our client, a dynamic and inclusive secondary academy based in Thamesmead, is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of History to join their Humanities department on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking school that values high standards, professional development, and creating engaging learning experiences for all students. The successful candidate will inspire a love of History and support pupils in developing strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable)
Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes progress for all pupils
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and effective feedback
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
Engage in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extra-curricular activities
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a strong team ethos
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A strong subject knowledge and passion for History
A proven track record of effective classroom practice and student progress
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A reflective and proactive approach to teaching and professional development
