About this Role Key responsibilities for the role include:

As a Teacher of German at WHSG you will be part of a successful faculty who are passionate about their subject and always strive to do the best for their students. You will have the opportunity to help shape the language curriculum here, designing lessons across all key stages.

  • The MFL departmental philosophy aims to:
  • Encourage a love of language learning and create an enthusiasm which extends beyond school.
  • Enable confident communicators who enjoy the challenge of using the language whatever their ability.
  • Embed a foundation of grammar and structure as a framework for learning.
  • Empower students to apply existing knowledge creatively in new contexts.
  • Enrich learning with authentic and relevant resources which contribute to cultural curiosity.
  • Ensure students reflect on how they learn and apply effective strategies for independent and personalised learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent subject knowledge with experience of teaching A level German.
  • Be hard-working and enthusiastic, as well as willing to take on extra responsibilities such as running trips, supporting prefects to run enrichment activities and undertaking CPD.
  • Team player who wants to be part of a thriving languages department.
