Manor Abbey School

Teacher of General Subjects

About The School

Manor Abbey School is a provision for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours. The school opened in Abbey Hulton, Stoke on Trent in September 2024. It will initially admit up to 30 pupils across Year 7 and 8, gradually increasing to a capacity of 70 places over four years.

About The Role

We are seeking an imaginative and inspiring Teacher to join our dynamic team. The role involves making learning engaging and practical while supporting behavioural challenges, and supporting pupils across all subject areas. The ideal candidate will be capable of meeting the needs of secondary-aged children who have experienced difficulties accessing mainstream education.

Requirements
  • Qualified teacher from any key stage, with the ability to deliver a range of classroom-based subjects, ideally with a specialism in English.
  • Inclusive, empathetic, solution-focused, and passionate about making a difference.
  • Awareness of trauma-informed practices and positive mental health promotion.
  • Ability to manage behaviour that challenges.
  • Team player and advocate for school improvement.
