About the School

Manor Abbey School is a provision for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and resulting challenging behaviours.

The new school opened in Abbey Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent, in September 2024. It will initially admit up to 30 pupils across years 7 and 8, gradually filling to its capacity of 70 places over four years.

About the Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an imaginative and inspiring Teacher to join our dynamic team. The role involves making learning engaging and practical while supporting behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will support pupils across all subject areas and demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of secondary-aged children who have experienced difficulties accessing mainstream education.

The successful candidates will

  • Be an ambitious, steadfast, and qualified teacher from any key stage, capable of delivering a range of classroom-based subjects, with a possible specialism in English.
  • Be inclusive, empathetic, solution-focused, and passionate about making a difference for our learners.
  • Have an awareness of trauma-informed practices and positive mental health promotion.
  • Understand and manage behaviour that challenges.
  • Be a team player and a strong advocate for change, progression, and continuous school improvement.
