Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Food with Technology who is passionate about teaching and learning and dedicated to achieving excellence for all students. This role would be suitable for an Early Careers Teacher.

Candidates should enjoy working as part of a team, be able to work under pressure, pay attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills. You should be committed to inclusion and the well-being of every child and serve as an outstanding role model in your own practice.

What we offer:
  1. An outstanding track record at GCSE, BTEC, and A level
  2. An inclusive school underpinned by our CARE values
  3. Students who actively engage in lessons and have excellent attitudes to learning
  4. Extensive professional development opportunities. We are the lead school for the Harrow Collegiate Alliance and collaborate closely with other high schools and colleges in Harrow
  5. Staff wellbeing activities each week, such as mindfulness sessions, staff sports, and clubs
  6. One of the best sites in London, located on the greenbelt next to Bentley Priory and set in 27 acres of woodland and fields, providing an exceptional learning environment

We continue to celebrate hugely successful GCSE and A Level results, with achievements including:

  • 33% of all GCSE grades were the highest levels of 9-7, compared to 22% nationally
  • 57% of all students achieved grades 9-5, including English and Maths
  • 95% achieved the EBacc
  • 31% of A Level grades resulted in an A or A* grade, and 92% of Health & Social Care students achieved D* or higher, enabling many students to secure places at their first-choice universities and degree apprenticeships.

Tours of the school are strongly encouraged. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit. Visit our school website and prospectus to learn more about the school and the role.

Note: The position is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020), requiring you to disclose all spent convictions and cautions, except those considered ‘protected’ under the Police Act 1997 – Part V and subsequent amendments. These are not subject to disclosure on DBS certificates and cannot be taken into account.

If invited to interview, you will need to complete a “Disclosure of Criminal Record” form. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Safeguarding checks, including digital screening, will be undertaken prior to appointment. This role involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children, and all staff have safeguarding responsibilities.
