Overview

Teacher of Food Technology – Location: York, North Yorkshire – Start Date: ASAP – Salary: £130 - £170 per day

GSL Education are seeking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to work at a Client Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, imaginative lessons in Food Technology, aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Inspire students with practical, hands-on experiences and a focus on nutrition, health, and food preparation skills.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and assessment practices within the department.
  • Assessing and providing constructive feedback to students to aid their progress and achievement.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and stimulating learning environment in the food technology space.
Qualifications
  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • A specialism in Food Technology, or a closely related subject.
  • Passionate about teaching Food Technology along with a strong command of the subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting health, nutrition, and food preparation.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
