Teacher of English (Senior and Junior Ako)

Full-time, Permanent

Secondary (Years 7–15) / Wharekura, Certificated teacher

Location: Ellesmere College - Te Kāreti o Waihora is a co-educational school grounded in family values and a community focus, offering students from Y7 to Y13 an exceptional education.

We are seeking a proactive and innovative teacher for our English Department.

We are looking for an energetic and innovative teacher for our senior English and junior ako programmes. Experience in teaching senior English, drama, and/or media studies would be advantageous. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young people and can develop strong, mana-enhancing relationships with ākonga, whānau, and kaiako. We value team players who are unafraid of taking risks, with a flexible attitude, growth mindset, and commitment to providing rich, authentic learning contexts across curriculum areas. Additionally, you will be:
