This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025.

About the Role:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and sharing their ideas.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including drama, debates, creative writing workshops, and technology, to bring English to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our English curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of English in students, encouraging them to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in English education.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as book clubs, debating societies, and school productions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
