Main Accountabilities
- Delivering teaching to the highest standards of ELT to a range of Young Learners (ages and levels).
- Enhancing the British Council’s reputation as a world authority in ELT.
- Continuing professional development and sharing of best practices.
- Ensuring teaching is engaging, relevant, and appropriately challenging, meeting learner needs and expectations.
- Using a variety of resources and technologies to meet learner needs, ensuring teaching meets Teaching Quality standards and organisational expectations.
- Complying with and implementing British Council policies and practices (Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Data Protection, etc.).
- Supporting the teaching centre’s activities and British Council plans.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate/University degree
- Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Diploma
- PGCE in Primary/Secondary or equivalent
- CELTYL or TYLEC
Work Experience
Essential
- At least 2 years post-certificate (e.g., CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL) experience teaching in two or more of the following age groups:
- Young learners aged 4 to 6 (400+ hours)
- Young learners aged 7 to 11 (800+ hours)
- Young learners aged 12 to 14 (400+ hours)
- Young learners aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours)
- Experience teaching Young Learners online.
Local restrictions on employment:
- Hold a passport from an English-speaking country as defined by Korean immigration services: UK, Ireland, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
- Applicants with an F-visa must have a university degree from one of the above countries.
- Provide an original undergraduate degree/MA certificate from one of these countries.
- Obtain an apostilled/verified criminal record check from your country of nationality.
- Provide documentation for police checks, reference, employment, and qualification verifications over the past 10 years.
- Pass a medical check-up in Korea, including HIV and drugs testing.

- Contract Duration: 24 Months
- Renewable Period: 1 Year
- Contract Hours: 38 per week
- Teaching Hours: 24 + 2 substitution
- Work schedule: Classes operate 7 days a week with varied schedules. Specific hours may change based on operational needs.
- Annual Leave: 35 days paid leave plus 14 public holidays.
- Medical Allowances: Registered with Allianz Partners for medical coverage, with an annual deductible of £150.
- Baggage allowance: £1,200 for single teachers; £2,000 for teachers with dependents.
