The Basildon Lower Academy in Wallsend is seeking an exceptional Teacher of English to join from January 2027. This is a unique opportunity to work in a successful split-site academy as part of a well-established and collaborative English department.

The academy operates across two sites, with a focus on Key Stage 3 at the Lower site and Key Stage 4 and 5 at the Upper site. The successful candidate will contribute to inspiring students and developing a broad, engaging curriculum.

Due to continued growth in student numbers, we wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of English.

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful split-site academy as part of a well-established and collaborative English department.

Salary: £35,317 - £54,063 (M1 - AL3 Academy Qualified Teachers Scale)

Position Available: From January 2027

Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed candidate will begin their BA journey at the Lower site.

The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring students to achieve outstanding outcomes and will join a dynamic and supportive English department committed to mutual success. We offer an engaging and diverse curriculum that promotes cultural capital and challenges the way students engage with the world.

The post is open to teachers of all levels of experience. We currently have a Head of House vacancy at our Lower Academy.
