Job summary

St Cyres School is looking for a motivated and organised Teacher of English for the Autumn Term. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English at GCSE and A Level, monitoring student progress, and utilizing modern teaching technology to enhance learning in a state-of-the-art environment.

Qualifications

We are looking to appoint a motivated, organised and innovative Teacher of English for the Autumn Term initially. The successful candidate will work very closely with the Area of Learning Lead for Languages, Literacy and Communication and the Head of English to support the delivery of English within the AOLE. The successful candidate must be able to teach English to at least GCSE level, and preferably to A Level. The successful candidate will need to be proactive in monitoring the progress of pupils in their classes and will need to ensure that pupils make appropriate academic progress across their teaching groups, and consistently across the Area of Learning.

In November 2014 the school moved to brand new premises with state of the art facilities. All students have been issued with iPads and staff use iPads and MacBook Pros to deliver their lessons in a truly wireless 21st Century School.

St Cyres school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and have EWC registration.

Closing date for application letters is Wednesday 18th June 2025 at 9am.
