Job Overview
Join Our High-Performing, Dynamic English Department
We are seeking a passionate and collaborative English teacher to join our outstanding department. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-achieving team where we strive for our students to become game changers in our wider community and to leave school with the intentions to make the world a better place through their built up empathy, receptiveness and awareness.
Our English department is one of the highest performing in the school, leading the way in both progress and attainment (4+ and 5+ results), and well above the national average in both literature and language. We teach students to read for meaning, write with purpose, and speak with intention. English at Bohunt Horsham provides a culturally rich, well-sequenced curriculum that aims to promote critical thought as well as a love and appreciation for literature. In addition, our curriculum teaches explicit literacy to ensure students leave school with the ability to communicate effectively, confidently and with clarity. Beyond the classroom, we foster a love of English through clubs, competitions, and trips, ensuring students are constantly inspired.
We are in our sixth year since opening, located just north of Horsham in West Sussex. We currently provide for students in Reception and Years 7-11. Over the next few years, we will grow to become an all-through school for 1620 students aged 4-16 with a nursery facility.
We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, which now has ten schools across four local authorities: Hampshire, Portsmouth, West Sussex, and Wokingham; Bohunt Farnborough joined in January 2024 and Rusper Primary School in March 2025. You will benefit from being part of a multi-academy trust offering the support of experienced colleagues across our schools and greater opportunities for career progression for those with both potential and aspirations to progress.
At Bohunt Horsham, you’ll be joining an established, high-performing team that is supportive, collaborative, inspiring, and ambitious.
