The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Design and Technology (Resistant Materials) to join a dynamic and supportive team from September 2025 on a full-time basis. You'll be responsible for delivering engaging, purposeful and practical lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners, enabling them to explore materials, develop core skills, and build meaningful projects with real-world application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Resistant Materials and DT across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that inspire creativity and problem-solving.
  • Support students through their GCSE coursework and final projects.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Encourage independent learning and practical experimentation.
  • Support the Head of Department in curriculum planning and resource management.
  • Ensure all lessons meet safeguarding and health and safety standards.
  • Foster a love of design, making, and hands-on learning.
  • Organise and support extra-curricular activities, including clubs and competitions.
