Teacher of Design & Technology

Salary: M1-UPS3, £31,360 – £49,084 – Pay Award Pending

Working hours: Full time, all year

Contract type: Permanent

Start date: Sept 2025

About the Role

Madeley School is seeking a talented and driven Teacher of Design & Technology to join a department on an exciting path of growth and innovation. Responsibilities
  1. Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Design & Technology, covering all three areas at Key Stage 3.
  2. Manage workshop activities ensuring safety and practical learning experiences for students.
  3. Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
  4. Support students’ practical and theoretical understanding of materials such as timbers, metals, and polymers.
  5. Participate in departmental and school-wide initiatives to promote excellence and innovation in teaching.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong understanding of Timbers, Metals, or Polymers at Key Stage 3.
  • Full competency in workshop management and safety procedures.
  • Passion for inspiring students and fostering practical skills.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons (preferred for experienced teachers or ECTs).
