Teacher of Design & Technology
Location: Colchester
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale - M1 to U3)
Contract: Full-time or Part-time (applications welcomed)

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and inspirational Teacher of Design & Technology to join our thriving secondary school located in the heart of Colchester.

Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an enthusiastic Early Careers Teacher, we want to hear from you!

Our school opened to Year 7 students in 2019 and is now a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 academy with a PAN of 180. Proudly rated 'Good' by Ofsted in February 2024, we are a heavily oversubscribed and highly regarded school within the Colchester community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured Design & Technology lessons to pupils at KS3 and KS4.

• Engage students through creative and adaptive teaching strategies that inspire curiosity and innovation.

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments within Design & Technology.

• Act as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral care and development of students.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school setting.

• Has excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of designers, engineers, and creators.

• Demonstrates high-quality classroom practice and the ability to plan, deliver, and assess outstanding lessons.

• Is committed to the personal and academic development of every pupil.

• Is prepared to occasionally teach other areas of the Design & Technology curriculum.

• Holds QTS (desirable, but not essential for the right candidate).
