Teacher of Design and Technology and Art

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Design and Technology and Art to work at an Ofsted rated “Outstanding” Secondary School in Selby, North Yorkshire starting in September 2025.

Teacher of Design and Technology and Art Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design and Technology (including elements such as woodwork, graphics, or product design) and Art to students in Years 7–11.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire creativity and critical thinking through practical and theoretical work.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress effectively.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the department.

Teacher of Design and Technology and Art Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Art, Design and Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience or ability to teach both Art and D&T to KS3 and GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for fostering creativity and technical skill in young learners.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
