Teaching Dance and PE is a key role within the Academy, ensuring the achievement of the Academy’s vision of excellence and success within the Performing Arts and PE departments. The successful applicant will be committed to leading high-quality teaching and learning, with a passion for Dance and PE, aiming to develop pupils' interest through a range of engaging experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
The candidate should be able to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love for learning. Strong teamwork, high standards, and dedication are essential qualities. Creativity and determination to develop the Academy as a centre of excellence in these subjects are also required.
The Dance department includes a dedicated dance studio and theatre-style performance area, along with classrooms for theory lessons. The PE department offers a wide range of activities, including football, netball, rounders, and outdoor adventurous activities, with plans to expand offerings such as volleyball, tennis, and athletics. At KS4, we offer the BTEC Technical Award in Sport, Fitness and Health, alongside the AQA GCSE PE.
We value participation in competitions, fixtures, and extracurricular clubs. Our staff are committed to providing diverse activities throughout the year. We are part of the Manchester Schools PE Association and linked with the Manchester United Foundation, offering coaching, mentoring, and wellbeing initiatives. Our teams have achieved success in various sports, including netball, athletics, football, cross country, cycling, and tri golf.
