Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher

In the heart of Hackney, an 'Outstanding' Secondary School is seeking a Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher for a September 2025 start. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher eager to contribute to an expanding Science Department. The school is renowned for its supportive Senior Leadership Team and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.

The school invests heavily in education, pioneering new teaching practices and training staff. It's an exciting time to join!

Experienced Science Teachers may take on TLR roles such as KS3 Coordinator or Pastoral Responsibilities. Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) will participate in a bespoke ECT induction program and collaborate with both novice and experienced Science Teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspire and motivate students in Chemistry/Science
• Collaborate with a team of dedicated Science Teachers
• Potential TLR Opportunities: KS3 Coordinator, Pastoral Responsibilities
• Support for ECTs: 1:1 mentoring, bespoke induction, training
• Start: September 2025, Full-Time, Permanent
• Salary: MPS1-UPS3 (£38,766 - £60,092) + TLR (dependent on experience)
• Location: Hackney

Candidate Requirements:

• UK QTS or in the process of obtaining it
• Strong academic background: Degree, A Levels, GCSEs
• Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' level
• Ability to work effectively within a team of Science Teachers
• Willingness to accept feedback
