Job Overview

Myddelton College is a leading co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 4–18, located in the historic town of Denbigh, North Wales. Set within 37 acres of grounds, including pitches, parkland, and play areas, the College offers stunning views of the Clwydian Hills—an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—and an inspiring environment for teaching and learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Teacher of Business Studies and/or Economics to join our expanding department. The successful candidate will teach GCSE and A Level (Edexcel) and will play a vital role in delivering our new International Foundation Year programme (Level 3) launching in September 2025 for some of our Year 13 students, in collaboration with NCUK.

Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply, and part-time roles may be considered for the right candidate.#

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies and/or Economics at GCSE, A Level, and within the International Foundation Year programme.
• Contribute to the planning and development of curriculum resources and schemes of work.
• Inspire, challenge, and engage students of all abilities in a supportive learning environment.
• Lead or contribute to co-curricular activities including competitions, trips, seminars, and our annual Year 10 Business Enterprise Day.
• Mentor students applying to top universities, including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a Microsoft Showcase School using Teams and OneNote to enhance digital learning.

Person Specification

• A strong academic background in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification (or working towards one).
• Experience teaching at GCSE and A Level is preferred, though not essential.
• A passion for subject knowledge, innovation, and inclusive teaching practices.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• An interest in professional development and continued improvement of teaching practices.
