We welcome applications from experienced and Early Career Teachers; as well as those with a relevant degree looking to embark on a career in teaching, to take up the post as soon as possible or at the latest 1st January 2026. The Role
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will become part of a large, successful and supportive department area, which teaches a wide range of students and abilities across several courses. The department comprises of 19 staff members, and works closely with the Accounting and Economics departments too which have a further 6 members of staff.
The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a teacher, with the ability to enthuse and innovate, to join our friendly and well established Business department.
The Business department is looking for an excellent classroom teacher, with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, with a relevant degree and teaching qualification (if no teaching qualification is held must be willing to work towards this). The successful candidate should be able to display a high level of skill in the management of learning with a commitment to a student-centred approach to the learning process. You should have an awareness and understanding of current developments in the subject area, the ability to manage student progress and achievement, and have a high level of organisational and administrative skills. You should have the ability to set and achieve high standards for yourself, colleagues, and students.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Terms and Conditions
Hours: Between full time and 0.5 fte We will always try to accommodate the preference of the best candidate(s).
Salary: Paid on the Sixth Form College s Salary Structure pro to £32,178 to £49,725 per annum (dependent upon experience). For an outstanding candidate the college will consider a golden hello recruitment payment.
