Brighton College is seeking a full-time Teacher of Business on a permanent contract to start in April 2027, or earlier if possible. The successful candidate will teach A-level Business, with the possibility of contributing to Economics teaching based on experience and departmental needs.

Beyond the classroom, you will engage in co-curricular activities such as the Business Society and educational visits, while supporting students in pursuing ambitious university or degree apprenticeship goals.

Role Specification

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher, or demonstrate clear potential to become one, with the ability to inspire pupils through engaging and intellectually challenging teaching. They will combine strong subject expertise with warmth, enthusiasm and ambition, fostering a genuine interest in business, entrepreneurship and contemporary economic issues.

The successful candidate will teach A-level Business and may also have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching of economics, depending on experience and departmental needs. They will share the department's commitment to academic excellence, delivering stimulating and ambitious lessons that inspire intellectual curiosity, foster independent thinking and discussion, and enable all pupils to make excellent progress. Beyond the classroom, the successful candidate will contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the department through activities such as Business Society, academic competitions, enterprise initiatives and educational visits. They will also support pupils in pursuing ambitious university and career aspirations, including applications to leading universities and degree apprenticeships.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work within a high-performing department where academic achievement is matched by a strong commitment to enrichment and real-world engagement. Additionally, all teachers at Brighton College are expected to contribute to the school’s pastoral system, generally as a tutor in one of our 16 houses (of which six are boarding houses and ten are day).
