About Tynecastle High School

Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school serving west-central Edinburgh for over 100 years. The school moved to a new site in January 2010 and offers excellent educational facilities. It is deeply connected to its local communities, drawing students from Balgreen, Craiglockhart, Dalry, and Stenhouse Primary Schools.

The school has a roll of approximately 850 students and offers a wide range of subjects, successfully preparing students for SQA exams at all levels. There is a strong sense of pride among students, staff, and parents.
