Teacher of Art
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire
Salary:
MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Part Time, Permanent, 0.4 FTE

Are you a passionate and creative Art Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of young artists? GSL Education are currently looking for Teacher of Art to work at a Client Secondary School in Selby, starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and imaginative teacher to deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and technical skill development across all Key Stages.

Teacher of Art Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art lessons in line with the national curriculum, tailored to a range of abilities.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a culture of respect and enthusiasm for the arts.
  • Collaborate with the Art department and wider staff to organise exhibitions.

Teacher of Art Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
