Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 per year

The post is a temporary full-time Teacher of Art within the Expressive Arts faculty. There are currently 12 teachers in the faculty, including the PT.

The start date would be in August 2025.

Dunbar Grammar is a six-year, fully inclusive, comprehensive, non-denominational, and co-educational school serving Dunbar and surrounding areas. It is one of seven secondary schools in East Lothian.

The current building opened in 1961 and is situated centrally in Dunbar, featuring spacious playgrounds, a games field, and full disabled access.

The school has been redeveloped under East Lothian Council's PPP scheme, offering facilities like a Games Hall, Fitness Room, Drama Studio, and Recording Studio.

The associated primary schools are Dunbar PS, West Barns PS, Stenton PS, Innerwick PS, and East Linton PS.

The school roll in September 2024 was 1,116, with approximately 90 teachers.

The role involves teaching relevant subjects across S1-S6.

Teachers are expected to perform tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, including:

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Registered with GTCS as a teacher of relevant subject
Full registration (General) for permanent posts or provisional registration for temporary posts.

PVG Membership
This role involves regulated work with vulnerable groups, requiring PVG Scheme membership or update prior to employment.

Applicants who have worked or lived outside the UK for more than 3 months in the last 5 years must provide an overseas criminal record check.

Pay Arrangements
Starting after the school session begins, salary will be recalculated based on leave and pay accrual, with further details provided upon employment.
