Full Time

Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 32 primary schools (including 19 with nurseries), and 2 standalone nurseries. Our special school, Saltersgate, supports children with various physical, social, emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties. School sizes range from around 20 to over 1200 pupils, serving diverse catchments from rural to urban areas. Several new schools have been built recently, with more planned.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 14th May.

Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks

If successful, employment is conditional on completing pre-employment checks, including medical screening, two references (one from your current employer), verification of qualifications, and eligibility to work in the UK. Registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS) and a PVG check for Regulated Work with Children are required.

Regulated Work with Children

This role is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Applicants must not be barred from working with children. Successful candidates will need PVG Scheme membership, which they must join or update before starting employment. The costs (£59 for full membership, £18 for updates) will be deducted from salary over several pay periods.
