The Basildon Academies are seeking an exceptional Teacher of Art and Design to join our Lower Academy in Basildon. The position starts January 2027 and will be based across two sites, with Art studios and dedicated workshops to support creative learning.

Due to continued growth in student numbers, we wish to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Art and Design to join our Lower Academy.

Position Available: January 2027

Our academy operates across two sites.The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.

The Creative Arts Faculty boasts a team of highly trained, creative, and motivated practitioners who work collaboratively to share and develop each other's specialisms through department CPD.

The Lower Academy benefits from two dedicated and well-equippedDT workshops, Art studios, 3D printers, a fully functioning Kilnas well as alaser cutter using TechSoft 2D Design.

You will be joining a well-established and collaborative team, which is also supported by a group of skilled technicians.

The Academies offer staff tailored and effective support to meet their professional development needs, ensuring they are provided with opportunities that challenge them at a high level. There is an open-door culture that encourages teachers to 'drop in' on colleagues, therefore promoting good practice within the schools.We are dedicated to the SSAT Embedding Formative Assessment CPD programme for the next two years, while also supporting staff in advancing their expertise and leadership through a variety of internal and external programmes, including the complete range of NPQ courses.
