Job Summary: GreenTree Preparatory Academy is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for a Music teaching position. Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) seeks highly motivated and creative individuals to build and implement high-quality music education programming. Music educators in Milwaukee have opportunities to partner with professional arts organizations and are supported by the Music Curriculum Specialist, music support teachers, and the Milwaukee Music Educators Association, fostering a culturally responsive music curriculum.

MPS music educators provide a curriculum aligned with the Wisconsin Music Standards, committed to high expectations, equal access, academic proficiency, and closing achievement gaps. Milwaukee Public Schools values creativity, innovation, and respect for teachers' skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional programs suitable for regular and special education students.
  • Teach in an equitable, multi-cultural setting, encouraging deep, critical, and creative thinking.
  • Support the MPS strategic plan.

Qualifications:

As of November 1, all MPS employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with accommodations available for medical or religious reasons. Eligible applicants include licensed teachers, counselors, librarians, student or permit teachers, practicum students, interns, and individuals pursuing licensure. The salary starts at $52,000 and increases with education and experience.
