Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Lecturer in Graphic Design at the Dunstable campus to join the Art & Design team. You will prepare, deliver, assess and verify subject areas across a range of courses and levels, supporting students to achieve high standards and realising their potential.

You will contribute to curriculum development, engage in innovative teaching practices, and participate in marketing activities to promote learning opportunities.

Job description

Role: Teacher – Graphic Design (Mat Cover)

Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Fixed Term (End Date: 4th Jan 2028)

This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

About The Role

We have a great opportunity based at our Dunstable campus for a Lecturer in Graphic Design to become a key member of our Art & Design department.

  • To prepare, deliver, assess and verify subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels.
  • To support and guide students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • To manage students’ learning and provide a high-quality learning experience.
  • To contribute pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • To participate in marketing and promotion activities to support a range programmes and learning opportunities.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidates will have recent experience of teaching and assessing on a range programmes and levels and knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 relevant qualification
  • Willingness to achieve Certificate in Education or equivalent
  • Willingness to achieve Assessor/Verifier qualifications
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year
  • Experience of teaching and assessing on a range programmes and levels
  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
