We are looking for a part time, point six (0.6) English teacher who has enthusiasm for teaching and learning along with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their ambitions.The ideal candidate will be passionate about learners, ensuring that they are provided with an outstanding learning journey whilst at Harrogate College. The role will involve working across the college to deliver GCSE to learners in all curriculum areas. We are an organisation that nurtures and develops our staff. What You Will Do

Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources.

Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods.

Create effective assessment activities, provide SMART learning targets, developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve

Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.

Reflect on teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students

Join a friendly, supportive, hard-working team who are passionate about developing learners self-esteem, abilities and progress

About You

Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject - English

You will hold, or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification.

Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector

English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.

Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, a commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment for students.

You will apply restorative practice to your communications with students and colleagues and be a proactive, flexible and supportive member of the team.
